Music App Design
This is my UX/UI case study for a music app called Music Life. Music has influenced and motivated people’s minds and hearts for generations. Music apps play an important role in people’s daily life and are some of the most frequently used apps on their mobile devices. Music apps are not only a digital tool for music lovers to explore and listen to music, but also can be an entertaining channel for people to interact with others. My goal of this app design is to research what important features music lovers would like to have in order to enjoy interacting with the app and others around them.

Problems
Most music apps only promote popular songs which they assume people will like. However, users get bored when the same songs are recommended over and over again.
Users feel it’s difficult to search for new songs based on their moods, activities, and time of day.
Users want an easier way to share songs with their friends, talk about their favorite music, and interact with fellow music lovers socially.
Solutions
Users are given a mood board to label what types of music they prefer to listen to. Based on that, the music app can provide the same or similar types of music for users to listen to.
Based on the time of day, users will be given a feature to choose what type of music they would like to listen to.
Interactive sharing feature for users to share music with individuals or groups within the app. Sharing can be done via chat or adding to a shared playlist.
